Lakeside rests between Honolulu Country Cub and the H201 Freeway in Honolulu. As its name suggests, the community is situated next to Salt Lake, separated only by Ala Puumalu Community Park and portions of the golf course. The north end of Ala Napuanani Street makes its way through Lakeside, with Ala Hahanui Street and Ala Puumalu Street branching off to form the main roads through the center of the community.
You’ll find lots to love in this suburban neighborhood. The slope of the hill provides views of the city and the Koolau Mountains in the distance. The streets are wide and walkable. Homes are well cared for with fruit trees and tropical plants adorning meticulously kept yards. Houses are single- and two-story designs first built in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
This is a great location if you’re looking to connect into Honolulu or Pearl Harbor without being right in the thick of it. The neighborhood is expansive and quiet, a welcome retreat from busier parts of the city, highlighted by the fact you’re nestled between a golf course, park, and a residential neighborhood on three sides.
